Symbols can be selected quickly from the comprehensive libraries included using Quickroute's
fast new symbol browser. Symbol idents are automatically generated for you, and symbol pins can be conveniently wired using the automatic orthogonal or free form line placement tools.
You can annotate the schematic with page frames, text or graphics (circles, rectangles, etc) and
Quickroute also includes facilities to make creating data busses and power rails easier. For larger designs, you can split your schematic diagrams into up to 8 separate sheets, each of
which can be 0.6m x 0.6m in size.
After creating your schematic, you can then use the simulator to check the design. Probes can
be placed directly onto the schematic, together with any necessary signal generators (pulse,
sine, DC, etc.). Then simply click on the simulate button to run the simulation. Time domain
waveforms are displayed directly beneath the schematic. The simulator can also display the FFT spectra.
Once your are happy with your schematic design, you can capture the schematic, that is turned
automatically into a PCB rats nest. To do this just click on the schematic capture button.
After capture, all the schematic symbol are replaced by a suitable PCB symbol, and all the
necessary connections are placed.
The PCB rats-nest can then be manually
or automatically routed from 1or 2 to 8 copper layers.
Soldering mask and silk screen layers are automatically
generated and there is a full range of
PCB design tools including copper flood fill,
design rule and connectivity checking.
Finally you can print or plot your design, or create
a set of files suitable for PCB manufacture
(Gerber and Drill files).

Quickroute 4 is available in 2 variations each of which has exactly the same functionality
but have a different design capacity. The design capacity is rated in pins, where a pin
corresponds to an electronic circuit component terminal.
